I did a 15 mile long 7-foot diameter water transmission pipeline project for less than the cost of that apartment . I think it was $163m in the end.

New York’s rent control doesn’t help the situation. YIMBY and better zoning can do a lot more to keep housing affordable.

You don’t even get a bloody lawn, you get to look at one from a distance that others are enjoying.
Not to mention, if there is a fire, it’s not like you can run out the front door to safety. You’ve got to get down 130 floors.
